Spring Baseball
6U T-BALL DIVISION
Boys and girls aged 4-6 learn hitting and fielding fundamentals in a supportive team environment. Young kids learn to hit a baseball from a batting tee which is height-adjusted for a level swing, batting in order through the line-up, every inning, for the entire game. We recommend all first-time players 6 years of age or younger complete at least one season of T-Ball prior to moving to Rookie Baseball or Softball.
- The season will begin the week after April school vacation and run for 8 weeks.
- There are no games on Mother's Day or over Memorial Day Weekend.
- Your child will play in one of the following groups:
- Sundays 1pm to 2:15pm & One Week Night 6:00pm to 7:15pm
- Two Weeknights from 6:00pm to 7:15pm
- Important - specific week nights will not be determined until about 2 weeks before the season starts.
- All games will be held at the Spaulding Ballfields on the two T-Ball Fields adjacent to the Kids Kountry Playground.
- The first half of each game will be instructional practice, followed by a game against another one of the T-Ball teams. There are no practices outside of the scheduled date/times.
- Team selection is done by the league, balanced by age & home town.
- Special requests for team/teammate/coach selection is allowed, but not guaranteed.
- We anticipate having up to 12 teams teams of 5 kids on each team.
- Any player that turns 4-years-old in the months of May, June, July and August is eligible to participate in T-Ball.
For 2025, the cost to parents is $100 per player, plus a $50 required fundraising deposit. There is a $25 late charge for any registration submitted after January 31st.
In 2024, the total actual cost to the league per player was $252. The league makes up the gap between what is charged to parents by fundraising, snack shack sales & sponsorships.
8U Rookies Division
Designed for boys & girls aged 7-8, this division uses coaches in the first half of the season to pitch allowing for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Emphasis is on starting to learn the game and rules of baseball. All positions will begin to be developed at this level including pitching and catching. The focus of Rookie League is to prepare each player to move on to the Minor Leagues.
- The season will begin the week after April school vacation and run for 8 weeks.
- Games will be held twice per week. Games can be on either Tuesday's at 6pm, Thursdays at 6pm or Saturdays at either 11am, 1pm or 3pm.
- Player arrival time is 45 minutes prior to the start of all games, and 15 minutes prior to all practices.
- Practices will be held one to two days per week starting as early as April 1st and continuing through the end of the season. The days of the practices are at the discretion of the head coach and can fluctuate throughout the season.
- Starting on June 1st, the league swaps over to kid pitch instead of coach pitch. This is to prepare the kids to start learning how to pitch as well as having pitches delivered to them before they move up to the minor leagues.
- These games are competitive, and there is a winner and loser declared for each game. However, there are no records or playoffs.
- Home games are played at either Spaulding or Craven Field.
- For away games, travel up to away towns up to 45 minutes is required.
- Team selection is done by the league, balanced by age & location.
- Special requests for team/player selection is allowed, but not guaranteed.
- We anticipate having up to four teams of 8-12 kids on each team.

10U Minors Division
Recommended for boys and girls aged 9-10. Players build and refine their fundamental skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. This is the first level that’s kids will pitch the entire season to other kids. To keep games moving there is a 4 run per inning limit. There is no infield fly or dropped third strike rule. There is also a 10-run mercy rule. Our league participates in the Macintosh Baseball Regional League, which will contain further rule modifications and allows for a post season playoff tournament and an interleague all-star game.
- The season will begin the week after April school vacation and run for 8 weeks.
- There are two to three games per week and they can be held on any day during the season.
- Player arrival time is 1 hour prior to the start of all games, and 15 minutes prior to all practices.
- Practices will be held two to three days per week starting as early as April 1st and continuing through the end of the season. The days of the practices are at the discretion of the head coach and can fluctuate throughout the season.
- Home games will be played at either Spaulding or Craven Field.
- For away games, travel up to away towns up to 45 minutes is required.
- Away games will be played in Ayer, Bolton, Groton, Harvard, Lancaster, Littleton, Lunenburg, Maynard Stow, Pepperell or Shirley.
- Team selection is done by draft with the coaches selecting one player at a time. Coaches kids are the only exemptions from the draft, and are automatically assigned to their parents team.
- Special requests for a specific team, teammate or coach is not allowed in any of our competitive programs (Minors and up).
- We anticipate having three teams of 10-12 kids on each team.

12U Majors Division
The major league division is designed for 11 to 12-year-old boys and girls. Cal Ripken Baseball is played under the Official Baseball Rules but implements some special rules as necessary for the development and welfare of this young age group. Under the Major Division, there are two formats, the Major/60 and Major/70 divisions. In both formats, games consist of six innings, have a 10-run mercy limit, allow unlimited stealing and both the drop third strike and infield fly rules are in effect. Our league participates in the Macintosh Baseball Regional League, which will contain further rule modifications and allow for a post season playoff tournament and an interleague all-star game.
- The season will begin the week after April school vacation and run for 8 weeks.

- For the Major/70 team, players are hand selected by the coaches after attending evaluations in the fall to participate on this team.
- Special requests for a specific team, teammate or coach is not allowed in any of our competitive programs (Minors and up).

16U Junior Babe Ruth
Founded in 1951, Babe Ruth Baseball League was created for ballplayers ages 13-16 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12. This is where players get their baseball cleats muddy for the first time on standard 90' diamonds under Official Baseball Rules used by Major League Baseball. These games consist of 7 innings, have a 10-run mercy limit, allow leading, unlimited stealing and both the drop third strike and infield fly rules are in effect. Our league participates in the Central Mass Baseball league.
- The games will start in early to mid May and go thru the late July.
- There are 22 regular season games in total, with 2-4 games per week.
- Player arrival time is 1 hour prior to the start of all games, and 15 minutes prior to all practices.
- Practices will be held two to three days per week starting as early as April 1st and continuing through the end of the season. The days of the practices are at the discretion of the head coach and can fluctuate throughout the season.
- Only the top half of the teams will participate in a single elimination playoff tournament.
- Home games will be played at the North Middlesex High School Field.
- For away games, travel up to away towns up to 1 hour is required.
- 13 and 14-year-old players are allowed to use USABAT certified bats, as well as BBCOR bats.
- 15 & 16-year-old players must use a BBCOR bat.
- We anticipate having two teams of 11-14 kids each

18U Senior Babe Ruth
The highest and most accomplished level in Babe Ruth Baseball. A favorite among high school players and coaches, this division prepares players for collegiate recruiting and the professional draft. These games consist of 7 innings, have a 10-run mercy limit, allow leading, unlimited stealing and both the drop third strike and infield fly rules are in effect. Our league participates in the Central Mass Baseball league.
- The games will start in early June and go thru the Early August.
- There are 22 regular season games in total, with 2-4 games per week.
- Player arrival time is 1 hour prior to the start of all games, and 15 minutes prior to all practices.
- Practices will be held two to three days per week starting as early as April 1st and continuing through the end of the season. The days of the practices are at the discretion of the head coach and can fluctuate throughout the season.
