Snack Shack Shift Policy
When registering, you agreed to work two shifts per registration in one of our snack shacks.
- During registration, there is a limited number of $50 buyout options. These typically sellout early in the registration process, and these are first come first serve.
- Up to two coaches per team are allowed to have one of their children's registration exempt from their hours.
- Additional coaches beyond the rostered 2 are not eligible for the exemption.
- Additional players of coaches beyond the first child are not eligible for the exemption.
- Being a captain on a adult team does not give you this exemption.
- The entire list of available shifts is posted about two weeks before the first games. You are highly encouraged to look at the shifts as soon as possible and select two dates that work for you. The shift selection is a first come first serve process.
- About a week before the first games, the system will start to automatically assign those parents who have not yet selected shifts into the open slots.
- If you are not able to work a shift, either one that you selected, or one that was automatically assigned to you, it is your responsibility to find another person to swap shifts with or have someone cover for you.
- When you find a replacement, please email info@taybs.org to have us update the system.
- Please do not email/text our league staff stating that you are unable to fulfil your shift, we are unable to assist you with finding someone to fulfill your requirement, and emailing/texting the league does not release you from your commitment.
- A child under 16 years old is not allowed to work a shift.
- A person who is covering a shift for you, does not need to be directly part of the league.
- If you do not show up to your assigned shift, you will be automatically charged $75 for the no-show.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled shift, you will be charged a $25 fee.
- As the season progresses, new shifts will be come available (shifts can be added up until the start of the next Season). Those who did not have their shifts completed, will be automatically assigned with no less than 48 hours notice.
- There are no exception to the snack shack shift requirement, if you are unable to complete the required shifts, you will need to make sure you do the buyout during the registration process.
- If a (documented) medical condition that prevents you from fulfilling your obligation happens after the season starts or when the buyouts are no longer available, you will be offered a buyout option. You must let us know about this before your assigned shift.
- At the end of a season, everyone's hours are wiped out. If you did extra hours or not enough hours, it is then all considered a wash. Once a new season starts, everyone starts over again.
- We get asked a lot if people do other things for the league, can that count towards their hours. The answer is, it really depends. If it is something above and beyond standard maintenance, then its very possible. (For example doing a construction project). Reach out to the league for more information.
