About Us

Townsend Ashby Youth Baseball & Softball (TAYBS) was established in 2013 from merger of the independent Townsend and Ashby Little Leagues. At that time, we swapped affiliations from Little League to Babe Ruth, and moved away from being controlled by the town recreational programs.

TAYBS is now a private 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation. This means we are not a government, a town or a federal organization that is bound by the rules of the Open Meeting Law or the Freedom of Information Act for public transparency. We are also not bound to Little League, Babe Ruth, USA Baseball, or any other sports governing body that dictates how we operate.

By establishing our organization in this manner, it allows us to fundraise directly, and have direct and immediate access to all of our funds. Our league is 100% volunteer run, which means 100% of all money raised through registrations, fundraising and sponsors is put back into our programs.
